Ano `ai me ka welina o ke aloha e na po'e o ke Ao nei
Aloha from the beautiful Wai'anae Coast on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. We are the largest of 14 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) in the state of Hawaii. In 2015, we served nearly 35,000 patients, with over 196,000 visits through our seven service sites. Improving care to the community means continued integration of primary care, behavioral health, nutrition, dental care, diagnostic services and pharmacy within the same clinic.
Our commitment of caring for and serving our community has continued to grow since our humble beginnings in 1972 when just one doctor and a staff of five began delivering services from a temporary location in the heart of Waianae. Today, along with our main clinic in Waianae, we have satellite clinics in Nanakuli, Kapolei and Waipahu, KWIC (walk-in) Clinics at Waianae Mall and at our Kapolei Health Care Center and two school-based health clinics (at Waianae High and Intermediate schools).
Long ago, we recognized that addressing the needs of the community needed to go well beyond just providing medical care. As a healthcare home, WCCHC believes job training and job development are also crucial to the health of our community. Since 1992, our Waianae Health Academy has offered health career certificate programs to help people get good jobs right here in our community. We also offer residency programs for nurse practitioners, psychologists and pediatric dentists, and even our own medical school in partnership with A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine, which graduated 51 physicians as of 2016.
