LOMILOMI SUCCESS STORIES

Client #1:

Client #1 is a Medicare patient who was involved in a motor vehicle accident in 1994, and in constant pain.  Under prescriptive physician care for chronic pain for 6 years, client #1 was referred to a chiropractor and physical therapist, with temporary relief.

The PCP referred client #1, to Lomilomi service, Feb. 2000.  In three sessions the patient’s body was finally pain free and relaxed.  Client #1 was so relieved to feel good that she scolded her physician for not recommending Lomilomi sooner and for giving her those pain pills for six years.  She is no longer taking pain medications and sees Lomilomi regularly.

Client #2:

Client #2 is a Medicare patient who has been seeing her physician for the past ten years for chronic back pain.  Client #2 was referred for chiropractic adjustment and physical therapy.   Client #2 felt that adjustment helped temporarily but physical therapy hurt.  Her physician treated client #2 with medications for chronic pain since 1990.  When she came for her 1st lomilomi appointment in March 2000, she could barely walk.  After three sessions with the Lomilomi/chiropractor team who worked with her simultaneously; she was walking again pain free.

Client #3:

Integrative Health got a call from Mauka clinic in September 2000, regarding client #3, who had a partial mastectomy and was in chronic pain.  Unable to move around or drive herself to appointments, client #3 suffered with loss of appetite, depression from her immobility due to chronic pain.  She could hardly walk, sit or think and complained of pain in her shoulders, arms, back and neck.  The referring provider was very concerned with patient’s well-being and physical pain and felt that our traditional Hawaiian practice might help the patient.

Client #3 was taken to the Lomilomi office for treatment.  Client #3 felt good, with less pain.  Client #3 received three treatments and started to drive herself. Today she is back at work after being out for a year.
