Here's an update on our very successful capital campaign:
Since its establishment in 1972, the Health Center’s patient growth more than
tripled. The original facility was designed to serve a smaller Waianae population,
as was the case 35 years ago. The Health Center has a critical need to expand
its facilities. Family medicine, and women and children’s health care
are now being provided in crowded and scattered clinical spaces. The Health
Center is approximately 22,000 feet short of space needed to perform its basic family
medicine functions for patients.
The new family medical building will significantly enhance the Health Center’s
capacity to meet the health care needs of the growing Leeward coast population and
to accommodate the growing demand for community-based training programs from universities
and colleges in Hawaii, the U.S. Continent and throughout the Pacific region.
The ground floor will house training rooms. The 2nd floor will house the pediatric
clinic. The 3rd floor will house women’s health.
