Walk-in Clinics

Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center (WCCHC) Walk-in Clinics are here to provide healthcare services to patients who need routine non-emergent primary care services, that cannot wait for an appointment with their Primary Care Provider (PCP). Our Walk-in Clinic does not treat life threatening conditions. If you are experiencing a serious life threatening emergency, please go to our Emergency Department located on the main campus in Wai‘anae (Open 24 hours / 365 days a year) or go to an emergency room nearest you.

Left Image 1 The Difference Between Primary Care & Walk-In Services

PRIMARY CARE:
  • Supporting chronic conditions (diabetes, hypertension, etc.)
  • Referrals to a specialist, special diagnostic testing, or if you want a referral for special services like physical therapy
  • Health maintenance (routine well woman exams, immunizations, cancer screening, etc.)

  • WALK-IN:
  • When you’re not feeling well
  • When you need basic shots (like the flu shot)
  • If you need your prescriptions renewed
  • If you need lab/strep tests done
  • If you need family planning services (birth control, pregnancy tests)
  • If you need a work/sports physical
  • It’s Important to Have a Primary Care Provider (PCP)

Although having a Walk-in Clinic makes receiving healthcare more accessible, having a PCP is very important. Your PCP plays a vital part in your long term health. Your PCP closely manages your healthcare and knows your medical history and the conditions you suffer from. This is particularly important when managing chronic conditions.
  • A PCP will work with you on treating your conditions with different levels/plans of care, based on everything you’ve already tried.
  • Having one primary doctor and healthcare team that is familiar with you and your family, is important in providing optimal healthcare services specific to your individual needs.
  • Your PCP will help you manage your long-term medications, including medication changes and how it can affect or improve your health.

  • If you do not have a PCP, contact one of our four primary care clinics (in Wai‘anae, Nānākuli, Kapolei, and Waipahu) to “Establish Care” with a Primary Care Provider. Call (808) 697-3658 to schedule an appointment with a PCP.
