Mend is a healthcare communications platform and is the Health Center's choice for virtually connecting you with your healthcare provider.

Telehealth is a secure, easy-to-use, and convenient way for you to visit with your medical provider, when you can't visit in-person. Now you can talk to your provider from your phone or by videoconference using a smartphone, tablet, or computer – all while in the comfort of your own home or wherever you may be when your telehealth visit starts!

Step 1
Schedule Your Visit

Ask your medical provider or healthcare team for a telehealth appointment, be specific about:
  • Tell them if you are a new patient or existing patient
  • Tell them a brief description on what your visit will be about
  • Ask them any questions you might have about telehealth
Next, you will receive a Mend notification via email or text message. It will contain a link that will connect you to your telehealth visit.
Step 2
Get Ready

To avoid technical difficulties, please test the device you will be using for telehealth visit at least a day or two before your appointment. Here’s what you will need:
  • A smartphone, tablet, or computer that has a camera, microphone, and speakers
  • Your device should be connected to the internet. If using WIFI, make sure you have a strong connection or cellular data will work too
  • Use this MEND TEST LINK (portal.mendfamily.com/test) to confirm your device is able to conduct a televideo visit.
  • Plan to launch your telehealth visit, no earlier that 15 minutes before your appointment time.
Step 3
Day of Your Visit

  • Have your questions and list of medications ready.
  • Find a quiet and comfortable place where you can speak with your provider without interruptions.
  • Click on the "Start Your Visit" link from the notification that was sent to you via email or text message.
  • Enter your birthdate to confirm your identity and click on "Go".
  • When you see your video feed in the bottom left corner, you have successfully entered the virtual exam room. Your provider will be alerted and will join you shortly.
